Lloyd Lumber Yard

In 2010, the Lloyd Lumber Yard was transformed into Lloyd Square, a downtown lot which now serves a need for daily parking and is available for downtown events and the Farmers Market on the weekends.

Hugh Nichols Public Safety Building

The Hugh Nichols Public Safety Building houses police and fire administration and opened in January 2012. The construction of this building is the first catalyst project for the overall downtown redevelopment efforts. Once the building is completed, the site of the current police station, fire administration, and central services will be prepared and marketed for private re-development.

Downtown Pivot Block

The Pivot Block is a City owned block and an adjacent half block in the heart of downtown Nampa, known as the “Pivot Block” due to its pivotal location in the downtown historical district in relation to existing access and future public and private developments. NDC selected Gardner Company as the Master Developer of the Pivot Block and Library in February 2012.

Library

The Pivot Block will include the construction of a new Public Library. The new library is seen as a key anchor and activity generator for downtown revitalization and will be between 60,000 and 80,000 sq. ft. Nampa’s existing library has been eclipsed by the city’s growth, providing space one-third the size it should be for a city of 80,000 residents. Now, the library sees more than 1,000 patrons visit each day. That is expected to at least double with the new library, providing an “anchor” for a variety of retail, office and residential demand. The new library will feature computers, meeting rooms, public art and modern campus-style amenities to serve as a cultural beacon to the city. NDC Studies

The 2007 Downtown Market Analysis by the Economics Research Association highlighted the charactertistics, real estate market conditions and potential of Downtown Nampa.

The 2010 Traffic Study was conducted by URS to evaluate alternative truck routes to reduce the thru traffic in downtown and remove the heavy industrial track traffic. The URS Downtown Nampa Traffic Alternatives Analysis was selected to receive 1st place in the Studies, Research and Consulting Category at the 2012 Idaho ACEC Engineering Excellence Awards.
